Pelleted dietetic feeding stuff formulated to support the liver function in the case of chronic liver insufficiency in horses. Contains a readily assimilated silibin and phospholipid association and highly digestible carbohydrates (Lucerne, Carob).
LEGAPHYTON is particularly recommended for horses suffering from chronic liver insufficiency (horses under intense training, overfed horses and “aged“ horses).

COMPOSITION
Barley flour, dehydrated and crushed Carob pod 25%, Lucerne 15%, Sucrose, Cellulose powder 4%, Pregelatinized potato starch. Additives/kg: Emulsifiers: Lecithin (1c322) 19 900 mg. Aromatic substances: Silybum marianum (L.) extract Gaertn. (CoE 551) 13 300 mg. Source of proteins and fibres: Cellulose, Silybum marianum (L.) extract, Lecithin.

ADMINISTRATION
Horses (500 kg): 30g /day. Foals/ponies: 15g /day. To be mixed with a low concentration but high quality protein feed which should be divided into several small meals per day. Advised period of feeding is for an initial period up to 6 months.
CAUTION:
Should not be given during pregnancy as Silymarin has structural similarity with estrogen and has therefore the ability to bind on estrogen receptors including modulating its effects on the target tissue (abortion in pregnant). Furthermore, it is published that Silymarin can stimulate the secretion of FSH.
